Program Description:
HCSD provides contextualized HiSET instruction, including Career Ready 101, and career counseling. HCC delivers culinary arts instruction, including kitchen etiquette, food terminology, cooking basics, food preparation, knife skills, and dining service skills, at Dean Tech's culinary arts facilities. HCC also provides digital literacy instruction. The curriculum includes the safe handling of food and beverages, allergens, nutrition, portion costs, yield percentages, functions of ingredients, recipe costing, and inventory control. Participants will also take the WorkKeys Assessment to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). Graduates also receive an HCC Certificate of Completion.
