ACCUPLACER®

In March 2019, the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education adopted the 2019 Common Assessment Policy for institutions of public higher education. The policy outlines the standards these institutions should use to place students into college-level, credit-bearing English and mathematics courses. For students with a GPA below 2.7 in Math or English Language Arts, ACCUPLACER® placement tests are among the assessments used to determine readiness for credit bearing courses. Students without a GPA need to take the ACCUPLACER or earn a HSE College Ready score in order to qualify for credit bearing courses.

Massachusetts community colleges have adopted HSE College Ready. Students scoring at HSE College Ready levels have demonstrated readiness to enter college credit-bearing classes. For more information and to see the list of Massachusetts community colleges that have adopted HSE College Ready, please visit ACLS's HSE College Ready webpage.

Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) has an ACCUPLACER® account with the College Board. ACLS Community Adult Learning Centers (CALCs) and Correctional Institutions may request user credentials for their programs and administer ACCUPLACER® tests to students. Contact Derek Kalchbrenner for more information.
