Task Force Members Wanted!
ACLS is seeking approximately 20 individuals for a task force to review the new Massachusetts Strategic Plan for ABE and make recommendations, including but not limited to modifications to the existing Guidelines for Effective ABE and the ABE Rates system, regarding how the ABE system can best accomplish the plan's strategic goals. ACLS is also seeking one task force member who will, for additional compensation, write the final report and recommendations of the task force./p>
The task force will be comprised primarily of ABE practitioners, with slots reserved for representatives of LWIBs, SABES, MCAE, and the Directors' Council. It will meet monthly from November through March, with a 2-day initial meeting at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlboro on November 6 & 7, and full-day meetings one day each month from December through March. The December through March scheduled meetings will be held at Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlboro; meetings held on alternate dates due to inclement weather may need to convene at the Department's offices in Malden.
ACLS is also seeking one task force member who will, for additional compensation, write the final report and recommendations of the task force. This may involve one to three additional meetings with ACLS staff.
There will be a simple application process for both task force members and the task force report writer. The process will be outlined in a Request for Responses (RFR), which will soon be posted to the Commonwealth's on-line Procurement Access & Solicitation System, Comm-PASS http://www.comm-pass.com/. Interested parties who are not familiar with using Comm-PASS should not be discouraged from applying, and may call ACLS for help navigating the system to locate the RFR.
This is an important opportunity to work with ACLS to identify the policies and practices most in need of changing, eliminating, or adding, to accomplish the strategic goals for the future direction of ABE in Massachusetts. ACLS has a long tradition of working with the field at critical policy development junctures; we look forward to an enthusiastic response to this invitation once it is posted. Interested parties who are not familiar with using Comm-PASS should not be discouraged from applying, and may call ACLS for help navigating the system to locate the RFR.
