Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS)

Key Points

  • The new accountability system focuses on program outcomes and no longer includes process standards (e.g., attendance, average attended hours). However, attendance and average attended hours (i.e., retention) greatly affect student outcomes, but programs will no longer be held to standards related to these factors.

  • There will be no points tied to performance going forward with the new accountability system. Instead, programs will be ranked depending on how close they come to meeting or exceeding their MSG target.

  • In future years, accountability could be tied to incentive funding (i.e., programs that exceed their target will be eligible to receive additional funding).
