Academic Support

Academic support programs are designed for students who have not yet met the Competency Determination required for high school graduation. Student grade and subject matter eligibility varies by program, but may include grades 8–12 and post-12th graders (up to the class of 2003). The programs are funded through state budget line item 7061-9404. Allocation grants are awarded to all recipients who meet the criteria specified in the applications (Requests for Proposals / RFPs). Competitive grants are awarded to only the applicants who best meet the criteria specified in the RFPs.

School year (SY) grants can serve students between the date Payment Notification is sent to the grantee from the Department's grants office (the date the grant is entered as approved into the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's grants management system) and up until June 30 of that year. Summer grants can serve students between July 1 and August 30 of that year. Eligible grant recipients include Districts/High Schools, Higher Education Institutions, One-Stop Career Centers, other Partnering Organizations, and Approved Private Special Education Schools and Collaboratives.
