Edward W. Brooke Charter School - Waiver of 603 CMR 1.12(1)

Pursuant to 603 CMR 1.03(2), Edward W. Brooke Charter School (Brooke) requests a waiver of the deadline for submission of its Renewal Application. Enclosed is a copy of this request. At 603 CMR 1.12(1), the Charter School Regulations state that every charter school desiring renewal "shall submit its application for renewal … no later than August 1st after the end of fourth school year." The Charter School Office received Brooke's renewal application on August 3, 2011. Section 1.03(2) of the Charter School Regulations allows the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (Board) to waive this requirement upon request. I recommend that the Board grant this waiver.
