Process and Timelines for FY2017 Budget
Attached are two documents that will assist with our discussion of the fiscal year 2017 budget timelines and process, and our initial discussion of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education's fiscal year 2017 budget priorities and recommendation.
The first attachment details the timelines for the next fiscal year's budget as well as the Board's budget timelines to coincide with the Secretary of Education's budget recommendations and the Governor's fiscal year 2017 House 1.
The second document displays the Department's annual state spending from FY08-FY16. This summary level detail shows the appropriation history for all of DESE's state funded programs.
We will review these attachments and the budget process at the September meeting. At the October meeting, the Board will have the opportunity to discuss specific budget proposals as well as possible legislative proposals.
