At our regular meeting we will discuss the fiscal year 2017 budget timelines and process, and our initial discussion of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education's fiscal year 2017 budget priorities and recommendations. Attached are documents that will assist with our discussion, including:
An overview of the state budget cycle
A spreadsheet that displays our state account appropriation levels from FY08 to FY16 and description of state accounts
Massachusetts public school expenditures by revenue sources
The December 5, 2014 letter to former Secretary Malone advancing the Fiscal Year 2016 budget priorities of the Board.
Additionally, you will hear an update from the Board's budget committee, which met on October 8, 2015.
The Board is scheduled to vote on its FY17 education budget proposal at the November 17, 2015 meeting.
