Safe And Drug Free Schools

Safe And Drug Free Schools And Communities are federally funded activity to support local schools and communities programs that prevent violence around schools; prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs; involve parents; and coordinate with related federal, state, and community efforts and resources. Programs must be based on the principles of effectiveness: Objective analysis of need; Goals and measurable objectives (with assistance of local advisory council); Proven and effective strategies; and Ongoing program Evaluation

 Resources On Children And Bio-Terrorism Available - The American Academy of Pediatrics has established a national Task Force on Terrorism. The Task Force was created to advise parents and other advocates on how to meet children's needs during a terrorist disaster. A website has been created by the Task Force to ensure that providers, parents, caregivers, policymakers and communities have the information they need concerning a possible disaster.
