For questions about licensure we strongly encourage you to thoroughly explore our extensive and detailed online resources at http://www.doe.mass.edu/educators including Licensure Help and Frequently Asked Questions for the most expedient response to most questions.

Please phone (781) 338-3000 to use the automated phone service (option "2") to access many of the same services available through Educator Licensure and Recruitment (ELAR), our online database.

If you are still in need of assistance, you may contact one of our customer service representatives who will use the same services available on the web to assist you. Effective March 24th, the Call Center's hours of operation will be as follows:

  • Monday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday's & Thursday's - 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Wednesday's & Friday's - 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The expanded service is expected to greatly reduce wait times, and provide greater access to educators unable to resolve their licensure issues during traditional business hours.

The Licensure Call Center's phone number is 781-338-6600. The expanded hours will remain in effect until Friday, June 30th.

You may also choose to visit our walk-in Customer Service Counter located on the 3rd floor at 350 Main Street in Malden, M-F from 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
