Aspiring Administrators
The importance of school leadership is well-documented. Strong schools are led by effective administrators. In Massachusetts and around the country, school leaders are asked to guide and manage schools and districts in which all students are held to high standards. Now, more than ever, we need strong leaders who are able to maintain a relentless focus on instructional improvement and student achievement, and to inspire the students and staff in their buildings to do the same.
In an effort to develop the school leaders of tomorrow, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is sponsoring regional career development days for aspiring administrators. Our goal for these days is to introduce prospective administrators to the rewards and challenges of educational leadership and to help connect them to administrator preparation programs. Follow-up sessions also will be scheduled.
