Educator Evaluation

Student Impact Rating

Diagram explaining determining a student impact rating. First step is to gather evidence in Year 1 on two measures and determining high, moderate, or low on each of the measures. You then do this again for two measures in year two. The second step is analyzing the evidence using professional judgement. Based on these two steps, you then determine the student impact rating.

In the Massachusetts educator evaluation framework, every educator receives two distinct ratings. The Student Impact Rating is a determination of an educator's impact on student learning. The rating is informed by patterns and trends in multiple measures of student learning, growth, and/or achievement.
