EdTech 2002 Report
April, 2003
Dear Educators, Parents, and Other Interested Parties:
I am pleased to share with you this report, Educational Technology in Massachusetts 2001-2002 , which includes findings from the data submitted electronically by school districts in 2002. The electronic form is a tool that gathers information on school districts' progress in implementing their technology plans. The Department uses the data from these forms to approve districts' technology plans, making them eligible for technology funding such as the E-rate discounts and technology grants.
As this report shows, Massachusetts has continued to make progress in providing the conditions that support the effective use of technology, such as technology professional development, curriculum integration support, and technical support. We look forward to continue working with you toward our mutual goal of increasing student achievement through the use of technology.
Sincerely,
David P. Driscoll
Commissioner of Education
