Project Description

This year-long project covered all five strands of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Foreign Languages. The project involved having groups of two to three students create their own start-up company, a restaurant in France. Through the process, conducted entirely in French, students learned to constructively use the Internet, synthesize the wealth of information they gathered, and organize their work into a complete business and marketing plan. Students used Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support their final oral presentation in the presence of a local professional restaurant designer. This project exposed students to a real-life experience and gave them a taste of the professional world.
