Project Description

This investigation focused on the part-to-part and part-to-whole meaning of fractions. Students informally explored rates and ratios, using proportional reasoning to determine how to combine orange juice concentrate and water to make enough orange juice for a given number of people. The students used virtual manipulatives, such as online fraction circles and visual models, to help them solve problems and check their solutions.
