Project Description

In this health project the students used heart monitor technology and computers to record their heart rates, determine their target heart rates, and develop strategies to obtain the rates. After learning how to properly use the monitors, the students wore them during various activities and recorded their heart rate data. Then the students used Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets and graphs of the data they gathered. After classroom discussion, the students applied what they learned about the effects of exercise and other factors on the heart to write a summary of their findings.
