Evidence of Effectiveness
Instructional objective: To present information in Chinese through speaking and writing.
Evaluation: The teacher evaluated each student's project based on the content (correctness of Chinese characters, sentence structure and the pronunciation during the presentation), organization, attractiveness and creativity, and oral presentation style.
Student improvement: The use of technology in the teaching and learning process significantly enhanced students' learning outcomes. Since students had to type pinyin to input Chinese characters, their pinyin and character recognition skills improved. Students imported pictures through a scanner, digital camera, or free graphics from the Internet to interpret their stories. As a result, they became more confident in using technology. During the development of the technology project, the students helped each other with computer skills and the Chinese language. Therefore the students developed a very positive and friendly learning relationship. Students' attention and interest in the subject increased enormously.
