Online Writing Assistance for All

In 2007 the Department was awarded a federal grant from the U. S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. This two-year project, called Online Writing Assistance for All, involves developing and testing a tool designed to improve middle school students' writing. The Department's partner in developing the new tool is CAST, an organization nationally known for its work in supporting all learners according to their individual strengths and needs. Once the online writing tool has been successfully tested, the Department plans to make it available to all Massachusetts schools through the Commonwealth's K-12 education portal, MassONE.
