Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Program
The Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Program is a federally-funded program to provide fellowships nationally to outstanding teachers to enable and encourage them to continue their education, develop innovative programs, consult with or assist local educational agencies, charter schools, private schools or private school systems, and to engage in other educational activities that will improve the knowledge and skills of teachers and the education of students. The Fellowship honors the late Sharon Christa McAuliffe, the teacher who served as an astronaut on the Challenger Space Shuttle in January 1986.
