Notes
The Massachusetts Family Literacy Consortium used the latest data available to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) with cooperation and support of MFLC partners. In some cases, the information dates back to the 1990 Census. The ESE will update these profiles as information/data becomes available.
Data in this profile is from fiscal years 1998 and 1999. Please consult contact persons listed above for program descriptions, latest program data, and local contact information.
A comprehensive family literacy program often includes: parents and children learning together, adult education, childhood education, parenting skills, and home visits.
Data from OCCS may differ slightly from actual slots because funding occasionally overlaps city/town boundaries since provider contracts are sometimes not specific to the program.
Several ESE Adult Basic Education entries include funding for community-wide planning.
