Culture and Identity in the Spanish-speaking World: New Interdisciplinary Approaches
This institute, conducted partially in Spanish, will help participants gain a deeper understanding of the diverse culture of the Spanish-speaking world while improving their skill in conversing about academic topics in Spanish. Instructors will address topics such as the popular culture of Mexico as it has evolved since the Mexican Revolution, the diversity of the Spanish language in countries around the world, and related narratives in film and literature, biography and autobiography. Participants will also research Internet sites to support classroom work and develop interdisciplinary curricula integrating history, literature and the arts.
