Important Notice: Obtaining Your GED Verification & Official GED Trancripts
Please note in Massachusetts GED Transcripts do not indicate awarding or receiving a Massachusetts GED certificate/diploma, only that the five tests were taken and passed. To verify that you have received your Massachusetts GED, you must do one of the following procedures:
The Simple Verification: A quick method for an employer, training programs or school to get a "faxed" determination that you have received a GED;
and/or
The "Letter of Certification": A formal document for verification of your GED status if you no longer have your actual GED certificate/diploma. It is needed for college admissions and financial aid.
If you are still interested in receiving the official transcript of your scores, please contact the test center where you tested directly (List of GED Test Centers). A maximum fee of $7.50 may be charged by the test center for the official transcript.
If you tested with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, please request your transcript in writing including name, date of birth, social security number and approximate date tested and enclose a money order for $7.50 made payable to the "Commonwealth of Massachusetts".
