Professional Support Personnel provide critical academic, social, emotional and health-related support to the students and families in their school community. Massachusetts issues the following licenses for these types of educators: School Guidance Counselor; School Nurse; School Psychologist, and School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor. Candidates seeking professional support personnel licenses are required to possess advanced degrees (i.e., a Master's in Social Work) or extensive training in the field for which they are seeking a license, in addition to meeting other requirements.
