There are over 30 vocational/technical schools across Massachusetts. These schools employ both traditionally licensed teachers of academic subject areas, and vocational technical educators who are licensed under a different a process, and are responsible for teaching technical skills or serving as administrators in a vocational environment.
There are different types of licenses for vocational educators, as well as different subject matter areas - from auto technology to computer programming to plumbing, welding, and many more. Vocational educators are required to pass specific technical competency tests and complete coursework through approved institutions.
