Academic Support Competitive Funding Opportunity Partnerships for Pathways to Success School Year Program

Purpose: The purpose of this new competitive state funding opportunity is to leverage well designed partnerships between public institutions of higher education and One Stop Career Centers to provide students with pathways to success. The primary targets of this initiative are post-12th grade students from the classes of 2003-2014 who have not passed the 10th grade MCAS needed to complete the state required Competency Determination for high school graduation.

Result of Funding: This funding will assist 10 higher education and One-Stop Career Center partnerships to recruit, retain and provide support for students from the classes of 2003-2014 to obtain their competency determination. The services provided by this initiative build on academic support in English language arts, mathematics, and science and technology/engineering, while simultaneously addressing the unique academic, work readiness and social/emotional needs of participating students. These school year programs propose to serve approximately 965 students in the classes of 2003-2014 with a focus on students who have already exited high school. Grant awards range from $58,886 to $78,000.
