Adult Basic Education -Workplace Education Planning Grants

Purpose: The purpose of this grant program is to establish a coordinated and cohesive planning process (Phase 1) for employers and education provider partnerships (and labor where the workforce is unionized) to lay the groundwork for on-site customized Adult Basic Education programs (Phase 2) to be delivered through these partnerships. All grant-funded workplace education programs address the Department's overarching goal of preparing ABE students for success in their next steps, within the context of career readiness.

Result of Funding: Adult learners will receive on-site customized Adult Basic Education instruction delivered by seven education providers in partnerships with businesses. In addition, there is one collaboration that is comprised of an education provider, a business and a labor union.
