Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Intervention

Purpose: To provide a 3 year program in public schools in grades 5 to 12 that promotes healthy relationships and addresses teen dating violence in 10 schools, one of which must be a school located in a municipality with a population of 25,000 or less.

Result of Funding: Grantees will develop educational programs and strategies to prevent teens from becoming involved with dating-related violence and offer safe intervention strategies and skills; design referral systems for students to mental health, legal, or other support services; use the Department of Education's Guidelines to School Districts on Addressing Teen Dating Violence to develop school- or district-wide policies and procedures for addressing incidents of teen dating violence and restraining orders involving students.
