Purpose: To fund educational collaboratives to support the statewide goal of improving literacy from kindergarten through third grade and to enhance the role of educational collaboratives as partners with ESE and school districts in their region in supporting districts and schools in early literacy.

Result of Funding: The grant is intended to improve early literacy practices in kindergarten to third grade. There will be 12 school districts involved. Within these districts, 38 schools with 106 kindergarten teachers, 73 first grade teachers, 76 second grade teachers and 25 third grade teachers, will be involved. The grant amounts range from $81,590 to $220,000.
