Purpose: The purpose of this federally-funded grant program is to provide supplementary support to school districts and charter schools with high concentrations of students at-risk for academic failure, delinquency, and/or dropping out of school.

Result of Funding:To provide funding to school districts and charter schools for use in a variety of new and existing strategies and initiatives to help reduce delinquency, dropping out of school, and at-risk behavior that contributes to low performance. Grant amounts range from $20,000 to $52,500 and target approximately 6,000 at-risk students. Note: Although this grant was listed and treated as a competitive grant, there was enough funding to cover all eligible school districts; grants, however, were judged and scored against a set of criteria and expectations and there was no guarantee of funding.
