Continuing Supplementary Support to Specific Underperforming School Districts: Attracting and Training High Quality Educators in Level 3 and 4 Schools in Fall River Public Schools
Fund Code: 220-D

Purpose: The purpose of this state-funded grant program is to provide continuing supplementary support to Fall River Public Schools in efforts to attract and train high quality educators to accelerate learning in Level 3 and 4 schools.
Priorities: The priority of this grant is to fund a Teach for America cohort of ten teachers to begin working in Fall River in the 2011-2012 school year.
Eligibility: Fall River Public Schools
Funding: A one-time amount of $90,000 has been committed to Fall River Public Schools for this initiative.
Fund Use: Funds can be used for activities and initiatives associated with attracting and training the Teach for America cohort, including new teacher orientation activities, ongoing professional development provided to Fall River teachers, specialized academic and class management training for level 3 and 4 schools, and other training as Fall River Public Schools deems important for the success of this initiative. Note: Funding will be provided when Fall River commits in writing to the conditions noted in a May 10, 2011 memo from the Department.
