Statewide Articulation Agreements between Vocational Technical Education Programs & Community College Courses 2011 - 2012
Fund Code: 430

Purpose: This grant will result in the development of a minimum of six statewide articulation agreements as specified by the Office for Career/Vocational Technical Education in the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in consultation with the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Education Advisory Council to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The statewide articulation agreements must be between Chapter 74-approved vocational technical education programs and community college courses/programs.
Priorities: The Department seeks to develop additional statewide articulation agreements within the following six career clusters: Manufacturing/Engineering and Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, Transportation, Arts and Communication, Information Technology, and Education using the 2010 model developed for the state's first statewide articulation agreement for drafting.
Eligibility: Massachusetts school districts, community colleges, or professional organizations with experience in the development of statewide articulation agreements may apply.
Funding: $105,000 is available from the federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act (Perkins IV, Title II).
Fund Use: Funds must be used to coordinate, manage, and finalize the development of these articulation agreements with input from the field. Funds may be requested for consultant fees, stipends, indirect costs, substitutes, web-site development, meetings, and travel. Funds shall supplement, and shall not supplant, non-federal funds.
