Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2012

Support for District-Coordinated Programs and Improvement Initiatives at Targeted Title I Schools in Improvement, Corrective Action, or Restructuring
Fund Code: 771-D

Purpose: The purpose of this ARRA-funded grant is to support Brockton Public Schools with district-coordinated efforts centered on supporting Title I schools in Improvement, Corrective Action, or Restructuring.
Priorities: The priority of this grant is to fund specific improvement efforts and activities that will fulfill the purpose of this funding opportunity. Such efforts may include improvement efforts that will directly impact high-need schools, such as operationalizing the district's redesign plan and overarching strategies to meet specific school-level needs; continuing teachers' collaborative efforts to target instruction to students requiring different tiers of support; establishing summer programs for students at high-need schools so that they can obtain extra hours of tiered instruction and so that teachers can benefit from collaborative opportunities embedded in program hours; and/or other activities agreed upon in collaboration with the Department.
Eligibility: Brockton Public Schools
Funding: A one-time amount of $165,000 has been committed to Brockton Public Schools for this initiative.
Fund Use: Funds can be used for staff stipends, consultants, professional development and coaching costs, student programming, and for supplies and materials that are directly related to this grant.
