Supplementary State Support to Specific Underperforming School Districts: Support for Worcester Teachers Developing Vertically Aligned Common Core Curriculum Maps and Assessments
Fund Code: 220W

Purpose: The purpose of this non-competitive grant project is to support professional development engaging teachers and teacher leaders PK-12 in the development and vertical alignment of district curriculum maps with the common core standards, including essential questions and formative and performance assessments.
Priorities: Worcester is a Level 4 district engaged in redesigning district curricula and instructional supports for teachers focused on accelerating improvements in teaching and learning in all its schools.
Eligibility: Worcester Public Schools is eligible to apply for this non-competitive funding to complete work begun during the last school year to make current, vertically aligned, and user friendly curriculum materials readily accessible to all teachers online.
Funding: Funding for the grant will come from state targeted assistance funds. A total of up to $75,000 will be awarded.
Fund Use: Fund use must be consistent with a scope of work and detailed budget to be submitted by Worcester Public Schools and approved by ESE. All procurement, permissions, and logistical work will be the responsibility of Worcester Public Schools and not ESE, and shall follow WPS requirements.
