Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2013

Supplementary FY13 Title I Support to Specific Underperforming School Districts: Capacity Building for Effective Data Use in Holyoke Public Schools
Fund Code: 322H

Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to support the successful implementation of Holyoke Public Schools' district Turnaround Plan relative to building district capacity to effectively use data (Strategic Objective 2).
Priorities: Building the capacity of a Level 4 district with Level 4 schools to effectively use data through a robust and comprehensive multi-year plan is the priority for grant funds.
Eligibility: Holyoke Public Schools is the only district that will be eligible for this funding.
Funding: The district will be awarded a grant in the amount of $215,710.
Fund Use: Fund use must be consistent with applicable state and federal requirements. All expenditures must go towards efforts to build district capacity to effectively use data, including partnering with district and school-level consultants and vendors to secure the necessary student assessment products, tools, and services to ensure effective implementation of this strategic objective beginning in FY2012-13. The district is allowed to budget funds at both the district and school level.

Funds may be used for:
  • Consultants/vendors;
  • Purchase of products, including student assessments, and
  • Other related expenditures.
