Grants and Other Financial Assistance Programs: FY2013

Lawrence Public Schools Summer 2012 Improvement Initiative
Fund Code: 323-771-220-143

Purpose: The purpose of this multi-source grant program is to provide supplemental support to Lawrence Public Schools for initiatives and activities to be conducted in the summer months of July and August, 2012.
Priorities: Implementing effective summer initiatives and activities that contribute to improvement in student achievement is essential to the turnaround of a Level 5 (chronically underperforming) district. The initiatives and activities supported in this grant complement the overall Level 5 district turnaround plan in Lawrence Public Schools.
Eligibility: Only Lawrence Public Schools is eligible.
Funding: Funding is available for up to $624,500 from combined funding sources listed in the budget workbook.
Fund Use: Funds can be used for activities and initiatives consistent with each of the initiatives and activities highlighted in individual budget sheets included with the attached budget workbook and may include stipends, consultant fees, travel for professional development, materials purchases, and other directly related non-administrative costs.

Submission Instructions: Print the budget sheets for each separate fund code supported grant and provide an original signature of the Superintendent for each separate grant.
