Number of Proposals Not Recommended: NA
Result of Funding: Implementation grant awards range from $19,840-$30,000, and will benefit approximately 8,716 students in grades PK-12. The grant will support the enhanced implementation of 17 established Innovation Plans by providing professional development activities to support identified areas of autonomy and flexibility and support the planning needed to embed professional development time into the schools' current schedule and calendar.

Innovation schools are in-district public schools that operate with increased autonomy and flexibilities in six key areas: curriculum, instruction, and assessment; schedule and calendar; staffing; professional development; district policies and procedures; and budget. The innovation school model is rooted in the belief that autonomy and flexibility in one or more of the six identified areas will establish the school conditions that lead to improved teaching and learning.
