Purpose: The purpose this competitive grant is to enable partnerships between districts/collaboratives and vendors to develop or enhance technology applications that support the implementation of the Educator Evaluation Regulations and MA Model System for Educator Evaluation. Funding priority is for the development/enhancement of technology applications, implementation of the application, and associated professional development for users.

Result of Funding:Technology applications will be enhanced to meet local needs and improve district capacity for implementing educator evaluation. The recommended recipients will receive funding that allows them to connect their educator evaluation data collection systems to other district systems, including professional development systems that will enable greater alignment between educators' needs and districts' professional development offerings. The recommended recipients' applications also include opportunities for artifacts of educator practice to be uploaded and exemplar artifacts identified to promote best practices within and across districts. Additionally, the resulting technology enhancements will be available to other Massachusetts districts (some limitations apply). Approximately 3,800 educators will be engaged in the pilots for these tools during the 2013-2014 school year. Each grant award is for $75,000.
