Quality Enhancements in After-School and Out-of-School Time (ASOST-Q) - Competitive

Purpose: The purpose of this state-funded grant program is to enhance after-school and out-of-school time programs and services to improve the academic, physical, social, and emotional wellness of public and non-public school-age youth during the school year and the summer months. In particular, this grant will support partnerships in the development and implementation of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) Service-Learning (SL) curricula related to Ecosystems.

Result of Funding: This grant program will enable five programs to plan and implement STEM Service-Learning summer programs at up to ten sites. More than 50 educators will be involved in professional development and training to support the creation of new curricula that use service-learning to teach concepts related to ecosystems. Educators will implement these curricula with a proposed 450 students grades K-8 during summer programming. Grant awards range from $32,390 - $47,000.
