Massachusetts National Governors Association Grant
Massachusetts was one of 10 states selected by the National Governors Association to receive a two-year $2 million education reform grant in July 2005, following a highly competitive process.
Among other activities, Massachusetts is embarking on a campaign to increase public awareness of the need for all high school graduates to be college and career ready. As a part of this, the Department sponsored our first-ever College and Career Outreach Contest. The contest invited high school students from across the Commonwealth to develop advertisements to communicate a message that would resonate with middle and high school students. Contest winners were honored by Governor Romney and state education leaders at the state house on August 31, 2006. Selections from this contest can be seen on the College and Career Contest web page.
