SIF Weekly Update - February 7, 2014

Dear RTTT SIMS Contacts:

As of this writing, there are now over 60 Massachusetts districts live on SIF! Three major SIS vendors have made excellent progress in the past two weeks toward completing their final Massachusetts certification requirement of having at least four districts live in production. We are confident that these vendors will complete certification by mid-month. Onboarding kickoff sessions have been held over the past several weeks, with approximately 20 more districts getting started with the onboarding process.

Aptium / SchoolBrains, Computer Resources / MMS, and IMG / iPASS are fully certified for MA SIF, and Onboarding is in progress with multiple districts. All RTTT districts for these vendors are either live, in progress, or scheduled for onboarding. If you have questions about your status, please contact your Onboarding Team representative or Data Collection Support Specialist.

QA review is in progress on the last few certification districts for Rediker (80% complete), Follett/X2/Aspen (40% complete) and Pearson/PowerSchool (60% complete). DESE is working with each of these vendors to draft an onboarding schedule that covers all RTTT districts. If you previously attended a kickoff meeting and have not completed your data validation worksheet, please return it to your Onboarding Team contact as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary delays. If you're not sure if you need to complete a validation worksheet, contact your Onboarding Team representative or Data Collection Support Specialist.

If your district is already live on SIF (you will have received an email notification saying so), I encourage you to begin reviewing the SIF SIMS reports in the ESE Security Portal and resolving any data errors in your system. If you need assistance with the reports, please contact your Support Specialist. Remember that we plan to use SIF data for the March SIMS collection for districts that are live on SIF by February 14, 2014. If you do not receive notification by February 14 that your district is live on SIF, you should plan to submit your March SIMS file in the traditional manner.

If you have any questions about the Massachusetts SIF program, please contact your Data Collection Support Specialist or your Onboarding Team representative.

Next Update: February 21, 2014

Thank you and have a great weekend.
