SIF Weekly Update - February 21, 2014

Dear RTTT SIMS Contacts:

As the March SIMS collection period approaches, I'd like to raise these items to your attention:

  • A group of 68 districts that will submit March SIMS via SIF has been finalized and I have provided procedures to those districts. If you did not receive an email notification from me this week with subject line "March SIMS collection via SIF", you should plan to submit your March SIMS file as you have in past collections.

  • The SIF production environment has now been updated to reflect March 2014 as the current collection period. For those of you that are submitting via SIF, your SIF SIMS reports are available at the "SIF SIMS Error Reports" link on the ESE Security Portal. Do not use the "STAGING" link any longer. Any reports you see in STAGING will not reflect your most recent data updates.

  • SIF SIMS reports will be refreshed approximately every two hours.

  • If you need assistance with reports or the submission process with SIF, please do not hesitate to contact your support specialist.

Our onboarding team is continuing to work with many of you and your SIS vendors to bring districts onboard SIF. We will be migrating more districts to the production SIF environment while the March collection is in progress. It is important to note that If your district goes "live" on SIF between now and the close of the March collection period, you will still need to submit a SIMS flat file in the traditional manner. By bringing your district onto SIF, your data will be flowing into our production SIF database and will be available to other applications such as Edwin Teaching and Learning and Edwin Analytics, but it will not be used for the SIMS submission.

If you have any questions about this or the Massachusetts SIF program, please contact your Data Collections Support Specialist or your Onboarding Team representative. I will be on vacation during the week of March 3rd, so my next update to you will be on March 14, 2014.

Thank you and have a great weekend.
