SIF Weekly Update - March 23, 2013
Dear SIF District,
I know that you are all in the midst of the March SIMS collection and while we reverted back to the legacy system, please know that SIF remains our highest priority. Here are this week's milestones:
We conducted our weekly calls with all vendors to check on their progress and to answer questions. Your vendors are all working diligently to prepare for the end of the year collections and much progress has been made.
The preparation of procedures for the on-boarding process are underway. These procedures will be vendor specific and we have made arrangements with vendors and/or districts to provide us with a demonstration of how the various databases work. It's imperative for us to know as much as possible about what you do every day to help facilitate a smooth transition to the new SIF 2013 program. These demos will be held next week.
We will be conducting a webinar next week with a group of districts to review the new Cognos reports that have been developed. District input will be invaluable to us.
Our project team spent many hours this week in training sessions with our new vendor, Visual SI.
The necessary documents for the next round of Fund Code 204 - Supplemental SIF funding should be finalized within the next week or two. A technical workshop will be scheduled to answer questions about this non-competitive grant.
It's been a busy week for the SIF project team and March Madness has taken on a new meaning for all of us!
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions.
