Reporting Virtual Teachers and Co-Teachers
There is a need to accurately report and link students and teachers of virtual classes. We currently cannot identify teachers of virtual classes in EPIMS and cannot link students and teachers of virtual classes.
Two new job classifications will be added for October 1, 2011:
- 2307 - A new job classification for teachers of virtual classes.
- 2308 - A new job classification for co-teachers of virtual classes.
Virtual classes will be reported in EPIMS using these new virtual job classifications in WA07 and the school code where the course is taught in WA06.
If the student attends a virtual class taught within the district, the district will report the school code in SCS03 as the location the course was taught. Virtual schools will report their school code as the location the course was taught in SCS03.
If a student attends a virtual class taught outside the district, the district will report the out-of-district virtual school code in SCS03 (CLBRVK12) as the location where the course is taught.
The all-courses code (99999) will no longer be accepted for virtual courses.
As is the case with all other classes, teachers and students in virtual classes will be cross-validated between EPIMS and SCS to link students and teachers at the classroom level for courses taught and attended within the district or at virtual schools.
Students and teachers will not be linked at the classroom level for out-of-district virtual courses.
