This parent/guardian letter and MCAS Retest Non-Participation Form, in English and nine other languages, are provided for guidance counselors to use when meeting with parents/guardians of students who have not yet earned a scaled score of at least 220 on the MCAS English Language Arts and/or Mathematics test or retest. If students do not wish to participate in the retest opportunity, and the parents/guardians agree, guidance counselors are encouraged to obtain their signatures on this form to document that the opportunity was offered and refused.
