Information on Assessable Standards for Grade 10 Mathematics MCAS Transition
For the grade 10 mathematics MCAS tests, students will be assessed on content in the math standards from the 2011 framework that matches content in the grade 910 math standards from the 2000 framework. The degree to which standards match between the 2000 and 2011 frameworks can vary and is not always exact. For example, in some cases the content found in a single standard from the 2000 framework is found in multiple standards in the 2011 framework. This occurs because some standards from the 2000 framework are broader than some standards in the 2011 framework. In other cases, the content found in a grade 910 standard from the 2000 framework is found only in a standard in an earlier grade in the 2011 framework. This occurs because some of the 2000 grade 910 standards contain content that is introduced at earlier grades in the 2011 framework, and is not repeated in the 2011 high school standards.
As a result, the list of assessable standards for the grade 10 mathematics MCAS tests does not show a onetoone correlation between the 2000 and 2011 standards, and contains some grade 58 standards from the 2011 framework.
