Contact Information
This information will be provided by the Department. If the information is incorrect, Directory Administrators can update the information in the Directory Administration application.
Mission Statement
The district has the option of including a mission statement, up to 500 characters.
Enrollment Data
The district/school will have the option of including enrollment statistics. If selected, the data will be provided by the Department, based on the October 1, 2005 SIMS data collection. The statistics included are the total enrollment, the enrollment by race, by gender, and for selected populations (Limited English Proficient, Low-Income, and Special Education). School report cards will display the data for the school and the district.
The Department is still awaiting guidance from the US Dept. of Education on the aggregation of the new race and ethnicity categories. For the report cards, the 2005-06 enrollment data is aggregated into seven categories: Native American, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, White, and Multi-racial. Decisions about the reporting of MCAS and AYP will be shared with the field in the next few months.
Grades Served
This data is provided by the Department. If it is incorrect, the district should send an email to DOEadmin@doe.mass.edu.
Professional Qualifications
The law requires that the district include data on the professional qualifications of the teaching staff. There are two pieces of information:
- The percentage of teachers with Provisional, Initial, or Professional licensure (all teaching staff, excluding long-term substitutes); and
- The percentage of core academic classes taught by highly-qualified teachers, (excluding those taught by long-term substitutes). Self-contained classroom courses have been weighted to reflect the core academic courses within them.
MCAS Data
The following MCAS information is required to be included under NCLB and will be provided by the Department:
- Student achievement at each proficiency level, disaggregated by race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, migrant status, English proficiency and economically disadvantaged status;
- Participation results, also disaggregated by subgroup;
- Two-year trend data for each subject area and grade; and
- Comparison data from the district (for school report cards) and state.
Adequate Yearly Progress
Information on the performance of the school and district in making adequate yearly progress, including the number and names of each school identified for school improvement is required. This information will be provided by the Department.
