New resources to assist districts in assessing online course quality

The Office of Digital Learning has posted the following resources for local school districts and other interested parties:

  • An online course rubric to assist in evaluating digital and blended courses used for instruction, credit recovery, or non-credit personal learning
  • Innovations in Education: Connecting Students to Advanced Courses Online, a comprehensive resource from the U.S. Department of Education to assist district and schools decision-makers who are looking for ways to give their students greater access to advanced course work and see online courses as an enticing option
  • A learning management system (LMS) rubric for virtual school applicants, school districts and interested parties to identify and evaluate quality indicators for the implementation or selection of an online LMS
  • The Virtual Learning Program Rubric, a publication of the Northeast Comprehensive Center (NCC), to assess the quality and rigor of virtual programs
