Department of Education Holds Additional Public Hearing on Proposed New Charter Schools

Malden - The Department of Education has scheduled an additional public hearing for members of the community to comment on proposed new charter schools. The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 31 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the SABIS Foxborough Regional Charter School in Foxborough. The Department hosted three previous public hearings in Boston, Worcester and Holyoke earlier this month. A total of 17 finalists have submitted applications to open new charter schools. The proposed applications are for the following cities and towns: Amesbury (1); Boston (8); Framingham (1); Fitchburg/Leominster (1); Holyoke (2); North Attleboro (1); Pittsfield (1); Springfield (1) and Worcester (1).
