Bureau of Special Education Appeals Launches New Web Site

MALDEN -

The Department of Education has launched a Web site to represent the Bureau of Special Education Appeals to better serve the diverse needs of the special education community.

The site, www.doe.mass.edu/bsea, is easy to navigate, and will be used to post important news and special events. Other features will include contact information, overviews of the various BSEA dispute resolution processes, links to state and federal rules and regulations, forms and resource downloads and links to BSEA Hearing Decisions and Rulings dating back to 1998.

The BSEA conducts mediations, advisory opinions and hearings to resolve disputes among parents, school districts, private schools and state agencies concerning eligibility, evaluation, placement, individualized education programs (IEPs), special education services and procedural protections for students with disabilities.

For more information on the BSEA, check the new Web site at www.doe.mass.edu/bsea.
