PARCC Classroom Reports

Two classroom reports will soon be available with PARCC data. MCAS/PARCC Achievement and Growth by Teacher(PE520) and MCAS/PARCC Achievement and Growth by Classroom (GR501) will soon run for either MCAS or PARCC; a toggle button on the prompt page defaults to MCAS. These two reports were selected based on report usage, data availability--Edwin Analytics has no item level results for PARCC, and the ease of adapting the report. These reports will be available on Friday, October 7th, and accessible from the Teacher tab for users with either the Global Role: Teacher security role assigned alone or the Evaluator role in tandem with the District/School Administrator role. Please check the Edwin Analytics Home tab to confirm the release announcement on October 7th. As a reminder, the following reports also include PARCC (They are followed by the tabs where they are found.):
  1. PARCC Results by Subgroup, District (PE334) / District & School - Public
  2. PARCC Results by Subgroup, School (PE434) / District & School - Public
  3. PARCC Student Roster (PE637) / Student
  4. Student Profile Report (PR600) / Student
  5. Assessment History Summary (PE613) / Student
  6. MA Public Employment Summary (EP702) / Educator Prep

Training Initiative

Work is progressing on the Edwin Analytics training initiative, funded by the federal State Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) grant. Development is being overseen by ESE's Office of Digital Learning (ODL) and an Instructional Designer has been hired. At the moment three deliverables are planned. First, a curriculum of blended learning covering basics of standardized testing as they apply to the MCAS and future tests, and use of Edwin and other data in schools; second, a training environment for Edwin Analytics, where pre-professional and current educators alike can experience the system with a representative set of reports and de-identified data; and third reusable learning objects (online courses) which reinforce parts of this curriculum. The timeline for these three initiatives will begin with an initial and partial rollout next summer and additional resources being made available until 2019. The Office of Digital Learning supports the expansion of digital learning capacity and literacy to advance learning for every student in the Commonwealth. It provides polices, guidance, professional development and support in the following areas: district technology and infrastructure capacity, classroom level instructional tools, assistive technology resources, virtual schools and online courses, and emerging digital learning trends.

Security Role Refresher

Security in Edwin Analytics is administered through a user's organizational membership and the security role assigned to that user. Within the application these organizations and roles determine what reports a user can run and what data can be seen within the report. Generally speaking if a user has access to a tab, all the reports on that tab can be run by the user but there are a few reports that are further restricted within a tab. Below is a list of all the roles available in Edwin Analytics. Since this newsletter is sent to all individuals who subscribe, we've included all available roles below but please note that not all roles are available to all organizations.
